During the liberation of 's-Hertogenbosch in October 1944, 146 British soldiers of the 53rd Welsh Division were killed in action.

In memory of these soldiers, the name and age of each individual soldier was laser engraved in glass, divided over 59 window panels in the 's-Hertogenbosch town hall.
